Whether you are a good or bad golfer does not matter. In Maryland all golfers are lucky to have access to some of the most beautifully designed courses ever.
Take the Eagle's Landing in Berlin, MD for example. It is a gorgeous but tough course on the Eastern Shore that has the distinction of being the very first in Maryland certified as an "Audubon Sanctuary Golf Course." It represents a great marriage of nature and sports, with individual links placed along wetlands and marshes.
Bay Club is another golf course in Berlin, MD with more affordable rates and discount packages.
The elite and picture-perfect St. Michaels on the Eastern Shore offers Harbourtowne Masters Golf Package prices at $239 (in 2006). The package includes 18 holes of golf with cart for 3 days, plus waterfront room for 2 nights, continental breakfasts, practice range, bag tags, club storage and cleaning.
If you'd like to watch the ships and seabirds go by as you play, two golf courses come to mind immediately.
The Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Places to Play" by Washington Golf Monthly and it has a spectacular view of the Assateague Island. The Pete Dye and P.B. Dye-designed course has enough challenges for players of all levels.
The Lighthouse Sound golf club has a great view of the Ocean City skyline for as far as the eye can see. Their "Passport to Play" package offers you the chance to play at 3 award-winning courses for the price of 2. The weekends are included (at this writing in 2006).
